Matt Smith completed filiming for the 2013 Doctor Who Christmas special on Saturday, October 5th. This of course means that he The Doctor has finally regenerated into his twelvth form which will be played by Peter Capaldi.

“So it’s goodnight from me, and it’s goodnight from him. That’s a wrap. Christmas 2013. Thank you all.”
Derek Ritchie posted:
“That’s a wrap! Christmas is in the can, you lucky lucky people!!!”
Smith mother Lynne posted this picture of her and her son via twitter:
The next series of Doctor Who will begin to air in January of next year, with Jenna Coleman returning to film Series 8 for an autumn 2014 broadcast. But for now, sad Doctor gifs all around:
Here’s a picture of Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith taken September 4th, just after the cast read through for this year’s Christmas Special.
It was said that Matt was in brilliant form at the read through for this year’s Christmas Special, written by Steven Moffat. Seeing him back in action as the Doctor made everyone there want to jump forward in time to November to see the eagerly awaited 50th anniversary special!
As reported in previous posts, after four tremendous years at the helm of the TARDIS, the 2013 Christmas episode will be Matt’s last appearance as The Doctor. Lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat has previously commented on Matt’s departure, telling fans, ‘…great actors always know when it’s time for the curtain call, so this Christmas prepare for your hearts to break, as we say goodbye to number Eleven.’
But there is much more to come before Matt takes his final bow…
The Doctor is back on BBC One on 23 November for the 50th anniversary special before returning for the Christmas special.
It has just come out that the 11th Doctor, played by Matt Smith, will be killed off by the ruthless, emotionless Cybermen in the 2013 Dr. Who Christmas Special. The Doctor has been facing off against the Cybermen since the very beginning of the series back in 1966, and they have become one of the series most notorious villans. They will be the ones who take out the 11th doctor to help make way for recently annoucned 12th Doctor, who will be played by Peter Capaldi.
The annoucement was leaked yesterday by professional stuntwoman Darrelle Parker when she tweeted:
“Great to be stunting again for Doctor Who in the Christmas special playing a Cyberman.”
Matt Smith stated that he believes the ending for the 11th Doctor is a fitting one and is ready to hand the reigns of the TARDIS to Peter Capaldi. Smith’s second to last episode will be the Dr. Who 50th Anniversery Special, which will feature the 10th Doctor, played by David Tennant as well as Rose Tyler played by Billie Piper as returning guest stars – along with John Hurt and Joanna Page. It will air on Saturday, November 23.
Keep an eye out for those Cybermen or you will be UPGRADED!
